- The offices where I work were closed the first week of April for spring break, so I packed up the kids and went to Iowa for the entire week. My intent was to lay low, spend some real quality time with my grandparents and parents. Typically when we head back to Iowa it's a quick, chaotic trip - trying to see everyone, squeeze in holiday celebrations, etc. This time my plan was to not really have a plan (with one exception of planning a day trip/sleep over to Des Moines to see some friends and have Mia's one year pictures taken by a friend of mine). The week went fast and still managed to get busy, but it was great seeing everyone. Here is a recap of our week:
We had some beautiful mornings and took advantage of the weather with a.m. walks with my grandparents. Gavin got tired and needed pushed in the stroller - ridiculous!
-My 83 year old grandmother tried to domesticate me! She taught me how to make her homemade pie crust, along with her apple and lemon meringue pies. Gavin had a blast and my pies actually turned out pretty good!
-Des Moines friends!Baby Jasper

-Mia fell outside and cut her face underneath her left eye:( Not a fun moment!
-Papa let the kids drive the lawn mower!

The drive to Iowa was a total sucess but coming home not-so-much. Miss Mia does not travel well, choosing to basically cry the whole time and NEVER sleep! Let's pray she grows out of it!
